How did you find out about this workshop?

For new participants, there will be a required pre-workshop session on Monday, 8/29, beginning at approximately 1pm.  Returning participants will arrive for the start of the workshop later the same day.  The workshop will end with lunch on Friday, 9/2, approximately at noon (exact begin and end times to be confirmed).  We will be building a learning community as a core dynamic of the meeting and we ask for your uninterrupted participation for the full duration of the workshop.  Are you able to attend the entire length of the workshop?

Part 2
Our ultimate goal is to bring the western science and native science communities together to explore each others knowledge. Our workshop will set the stage for partnerships to form, including a diversity of thought and nourishing holistic concepts of learning and the sharing of knowledge. We will provide a safe and respectful environment for all voices to be heard.

Please respond to the following questions:

1) Please briefly describe the science focus of your work or your science interest.

2) Why do you want to embark in this professional development effort?

3) What is it that you would like to know?

4) Why do you want to know?

5) Please describe any previous experience working with the Native American, Native Hawaiian, or Native Alaskan communities.

6) Other comments or questions. (optional)

We are framing these questions in this way because they reflect traditional practices of Native people in the transmission of knowledge. We feel that answering them will help you and the organizers to clarify and design a learning experience that will be nourishing intellectually, scientifically and personally.
